Now that my tank is getting closer to being cycled and I've got all the Kinks worked out I am wondering if I should put a screen on my HOB overflow box.
Even though my tank is still empty of livestock I sometimes sit and just stare at it imagining different fish swimming around in it. This morning one thing that peaked my curiosity was the amount of water going into my overflow box and not having a screen or anything on it to prevent snails and small fish getting sucked into it.
There is no grate no nothing on the cpr HOBoverflow box.
I am currently running about 950 gallons an hour and the water level is approximately 1/2 inch above the lip of the HOB overflow.
So would it be a good idea to create a screen to attach to the HOB overflow?
If so, what would you suggest on how to make one or where to get one?
