I bought a used GEO calcium reactor off of a forum member here. It's been a while but I finally got to setting it up and running it tonight. The video makes it sound worse than it is but I don't think it's supposed to sound like this, right?

Should the reactor be completely filled?Sounds like air is stuck in the output tube because there is some form of excess air being brought into the reactor. Possibly via the ph port. This same thing has happened to mine a couple times
With water yes. It could be air locked as someone else said if it’s not full. As far as media it does not need to be full to workShould the reactor be completely filled?
I will also take the pump apart and see if something is lodged
This need to be opened up to check for any debris, but it does sound like you have the air in the reactor. The reactor should have 0 air in it, because the pump is pulling water from the top on geo.Should the reactor be completely filled?

Ok, this must be the issue. I filled it most of the way up, was in a rushWith water yes. It could be air locked as someone else said if it’s not full. As far as media it does not need to be full to work
OK so I filled it all the way up.Yep fill it to the max and then run the effluent pump to where it fills the tubing the rest of the way. Then turn on circulation when there is no air left in it
I double checked everything. I'll do that again. Anywhere that's prone to letting air in I should check first? Are all your fittings tight? Could you be sucking air in thru a loose fitting
No, the forum member I bought this from said it was new. I'll check, but when I was putting it all together I don't recall any blockage.Have you checked for obstruction in the plumbing? Perhaps the intake is clogged....
Ok pulled it apart (again)... Nothing obstructing.Have you checked for obstruction in the plumbing? Perhaps the intake is clogged....
