Maybe 6 months now. Got it during the time my tank was empty and the fish were in QT. I really liked the cotton candy look

Ive got 2 maxima coming next week.
Well. The clams were sent a week later due to holiday weekend. They arrived with very high salinity water and took a while to acclimate/adjust.
They are now opening up nicely and have started changing colors a bit. I still have them on the sandbed (one found a buried rock base and attach to it, and may just live there forever) i have many sps on the sandbed in that area and light is good, also added a kessil spot light (to punch through the depths) just over them.

The one in the back to the right of a derasa isnt fully open due to a hungry photo bomber...

No pinched mantles and no pest snails, im a pretty happy clammer

also maybe get WYSIWY I got two clams from algae barn and you arent really guaranteed what you get, one of my clams came mostly brown, 2 years later its still barely coloring up but its not great. If you just want a clam I guess it doesn't matter if you buy blind. Most people however probably want a certain look when they buy them though. Its more expensive that way, but better to spend the money on what you like than something you'll feel indifferent towards
