I doubt anyone here has seen a white mouth moray, Gymnothorax meleagris in the hobby? I saw some wild ones and they were incredibly pretty.

This was mine. I caught him myself while living in Hawaii. By the time I moved and gave him away, he was 2.5 ft long.

Wow!
Shame they are rare outside of Hawaii
I was originally going to have a friend of mine that worked at the fish store in Ewa hold onto him and ship him out to me when I got a tank set up here, but it took me longer than expected and by the time I contacted him again when I was ready, he never responded. I imagine he sold it or his boss didn't want it taking up tank space anymore. I miss my buddy, but I understand.

Not to derail, but I was trying to send you a DM about a scorp I saw available that I didn't know if you were interested in, but it said I couldn't. Start one with me if you're interested.

What variety are you feeling your eels? I want to make sure my pretty baby gets good nutrition.

It varies pick up to pick up as I like to try to keep dinner interesting for the crew. Here I have the following:

24 cherry stone clams. Usually providing 2-3 per serving. Everyone loves these. In the past I would put the class in the tank where they would open up a bit. The eels would set up shop an wait. I no longer due so to minimize foreign risk.

4lbs Shrimp, shells on. Cut in half with cooking scissors. Usually grabbing 3-4 lbs, mainly to make sure the zebras can enjoy some as they are picky.

2 pounds of octopus. Lil head sleeves are pulled off an cut into rings with cooking scissors. Tentacles usually split in bisected in half. Had issues with Tentacles not making it all th way in the mouth and other literally snatching food out of each other's mouth.

2 poinds of calamari. Another attempt at variety

I'm not one to brag, but I got another one.
IMG_2247.jpg

We have a third one at the store I'm holding for a guy that wanted one (another weirdo eel-collecting guy, who could've guessed?), but if he doesn't answer my calls to come get it I think I'll be happy to have three together.

The original kicked the new guy out of his patch of rocks, but hopefully that will change when they move into their permanent tank once it's set up. I've always loved watching multiple eels of the same species sticking out of the same hole, looks cozy for them.

How aggressive are the chestnut morays?

My eels!
Ivar is a jeweled eel and Ghost is a snowflake! They are quite the pair, share burrows and even food! Yeah I know I was surprised about them sharing food too lol
