Came home to find my two year + blue mandarin dead. I love all my fish but he was my favorite. I am absolutely devastated . Idk what happened!? I buy pods often just added 5280 pods and RN tig pods last weekend and he regularly ate frozen and pellet foods so it couldn’t be lack of food?? No ick or noticeable signs of sickness. Old age?

Wanted to bump this with my female mandy, Synchiropus picturatus. I got her a few weeks ago (maybe even a month ago now) and she’s still nice and beefy!

She isn’t actually in the 4’ tank, she’s in my nano. I don’t dose Phyto on a regular however the 4’ does have an RO section you could turn into a refugium.

In a 4’ tank you wouldn’t honestly need a refugium. A 4’ tank has the rockwork that can sustain a mandarin quite happily. However my refugium for my nano is going to be a dosing unit area.
Currently I just have random algae in there as I’m waiting for some macro to appear (I do plan to have it as a mini pico display of macros).
