The pump in the lower right side of the second pic runs up to the UV Sterilizer which I put in to eliminate and nasty dino problem. The UV sterilizer was so effective I don't want to risk moving it from the display tank, although I would love to figure out how to do it.

Hi guys, I had a quick question about a tang I’ve seen in two videos on YouTube. I’m trying to figure out what kind it is but google doesn’t know. It’s yellow, white, and brown and it looks super rare. I was just wondering if anyone knows the name? Thanks in advance.

A pic would help big time or post the link to the YouTube video

It is not reasonable to expect a correct ID from this description.
Picture please

Although I hate to reward this type of description, i'll take a shot in the dark: bicolor foxface

This will be interesting. I had a very good month at work and decided to treat myself to something I said I’d never purchase. A gem tang. This one is about 5.5 inches, bigger than I’d like but if I want it as a show piece I suppose it’s a good size until it outgrows my tank and needs to move to my wall tank build coming soon.

I found this beautiful male Achilles tang on divers den with streamers and a giant teardrop. It has the appearance of a large male 7-8 inches but it’s only 4.5!

I suspect he will be a terror, but it’s a handsome fish. Hopefully these rampant infections in the hobby don’t dust this batch!

@HotRocks no pressure bro (he has been quarantining my fish recently we switched it up haha)

Are not worry that the Gem Tang will be expensive Sushi in the small QT with the Achilles? So will the Regal?
OTTT nice fishes

Gem tang already owns the Achilles.

Nope, he's bigger and zebrasoma tend to hold their own. As far as aggression once established in a territory I'd say they're equal or acanthurus are a bit worse -- but the real difference is an acanthurus tang doesn't always get over their grudge. Badgering and beating a fish until it's dead for a month or more. You can remove the aggressor and add it months later and it will often resume it's aggressive behavior towards the unwelcome victim. I don't see this with other tangs. Zebrasoma don't seem to hold "grudges" like that.
