I don't see why not, but, at that size, I would say it would become cost prohibitive.

I'm sure it could if designed properly. Reach out to Chris Benner and get a quote IMO. He uses Controlled Dynamics and they designed mine. No way I'd trust others with that size. CD has a much better system and better brackets which will make a huge difference at that size

Thanks guys, yeah, I feel very encouraged to give this a try, I have worked with 120x40 aluminum for work, and it is super strong stuff. Seeing how you’ve all used it here is exciting, all your builds looks super clean.

My next question, how many of you are using the leveling feet? Do you recommend? It’s hard to imagine the leveling feet holding up all that weight! But I guess it’s spread out, still scared of them though

I had the same concern, but glad I had them cause there ended up being close to 1/2" of variance in the floor where I put my tank. I was more worried that the concentration from the 6 feet would damage my flooring (laminate hardwood) but i'm about a year in with no issues. hopefully there's not 6 indentations in the flooring if/when I move the tank

also like having the small gap under the stand for leak sensors

I have 8 on my 250g tank and they seem to be just fine. I think each one is rated for over 1000 pounds? I would have to go double check.

I am also super glad to have them. My floor was pretty flat but one corner needed just a little raise.

Yes to leveling feet. Leveling casters are also available.

I wouldn't build a stand without leveling feet, absolutely worth the cost. Buy once and cry once.

Just looking them up, stronger than I though, the M8 can handle 750kg, and the M12 can handle 2000kg, pretty impressive.

Is there any concern about putting the load onto concrete through such small points?

FramingTech has quoted me on a 45X90 stand for a 130"x36"x36" tank, about 730 gallons. Complete price in "kit" form is bumping $5k.

I had a steel stand quoted for my 12 foot tank, including powder coating and delivery for $2200. I think at some point, it's just better to go steel. I ended up keeping the stand I had originally built for the store for it.


I do, however have two stands, a rack and a desk made from extrusions. So I really like it.

thats a good idea, not sure how to drill the hole if you already have it though.

not sure if this would work (structurally that is, as i havent used any program to test the strength), but you could buy 4 small 2-inch pieces of t slot and have them tapped for the feet. then use gussets on either side to secure them below the legs on the front and rear bar. this will add 2 inches plus the leveling feet to the height obviously (if that matters). (i had this idea because i am considering it and planning a t slot stand).

½” x 33” x 84” UHMW
Floor of stand-
½” x 33” x 84” HDPE

This looks great and I just ordered a sheet of UHMW a few days ago after reading this. Quick question: How did you attach the sheet to the top of the stand?

I just tacked it with a very little dab in a few spots of clear caulk/glue

No need to attach it with hardware IMO

Framingtech 73”x48”x33” . These guys use weight distribution software to accurate get the max weight the stand can hold. I had them make this to 7000 lbs for a large safety margin, 2250$ shipped
