Now will this be to much for my tank or it will be good. Also do I start it far slow. This is what I have now.
Red and green don’t really do anything..you can turn UV and violet up to 100% and blues up to 80%. Then turn acclimation mode on and start at 50% for 30 days. The whites are just for looks.

So everything can stay the same just the colors you stated to rise up and acclimation mode?

Yup. I’d lower the green and red, but that’s just me. there’s also presets online on the ai homepage you can download to your light if you want to try a setting that’s been created by experienced reefers.

Anyone upgrade to the fluval marine 3.0? Seems like a good option for those that want to keep the lid.

I just did. It fits really well, except it requires some trimming to keep it completely level. You don't have to trim it, but you will probably want to at some point. There is a small gap along the sides, but it's not too big. On the first picture you can see a thin strip on the holder that goes down the side of the tank to prevent the light from falling in. That needs to be cut off of one end, as I mentioned. If you have a Dremel tool, it's easy to cut or grind it off in two minutes. A hack saw would work too. Don't worry, the light can't fall in when it's in the lid and this does not need to be done to use the light. The other end goes in the feeder hole. I can update with my experience. PM me sometime in the future in case I forget (I probably will!). The timing functions are more useful than I would have thought. That alone is a good reason for a new light IMO. Everyone says consistency is key for good growth. That guarantees it with lighting. (Just a helpful hint if you get it, it will be much easier to delete all of the time points under Pro and then add them back in as you go along. You'll see what I mean.)

Hi all. Just saw this thread and love everyone's evo's. Such a great tank. Here's mine at the 5 month mark. Added intank chamber 1 media basket and upgraded the pump to the ehiem 1000 for better flow. I liked the hood so I elevated it slightly for better air circulation to keep heat down with no heater needed. I added 2 blue led timer strips under the hood for a ramp up and ramp down, it also gives the tank that antic pop which is awesome. Running chemi pure blue, seachem matrix and gel. No skimmer. 2 1/2 water change every 2 weeks. Running great.

I have been looking into getting more pop then the white of the stock light. Can you please let me know what lights you added and how you went about it? Also what did you use to raise the hood? Looks awesome and clean.

Other than the new light I added (three posts up) I recently put this blue light strip under the hood. It adds a lot of blue and makes things look more colorful under whites. It seems well made and waterproof. (fyi- The description says that it has white lights in it too, but it doesn't. It is all blue LEDs.)

Do you have a picture by chance with the stock light on and the blue light at same time? How did you wire it? I currently have a timer and power level adjuster that the stock light is hooked into but I’m not sure how to wire another light in.

I will send one today when I get a chance. I just have the blue one on a timer. The main light has a blue tooth setup for timing, color mix etc.

I used the light it came with for the photos. With my phone camera it is hard to see difference. Under whites it does not show a huge difference in brightness, so I have added photos of it with the lights off and another with just the blue strip on so you can get an idea of how much blue is added. For the wiring, I just glued the light on and ran it through the same hole in the lid. I did not add the brightness adjuster. I just used a plug timer. IMO the biggest difference is when you have the just all blues on. Push the light all the was up to the edge of the light hole on the back of the lid. Otherwise it shines in your eyes when you look into the tank.

I like the new main light because you can adjust the mix of light colors, so you can turn down the whites and turn up the blues so the corals look better during the day and any algae does not look that bright green that it does now.

Looks good, I am just looking for something that will add blue while the normal light is on because it is so white. I don’t mind the stock light with the blues on, but can’t run just blue all the time haha
