that's right, he can nuke the system if it's something bad, think about how many stuff you know, which touching them (disturbing, cutting etc) can bring your crash

No not dissect in the tank, cut one off and remove from water immediately. Clearly whatever it is it is invasive so will have to be removed anyways as I guarantee the pipe will not be having it at some point

If you do pop one off check for any internal structure. If sponge should have holey tissue throughout. If algae or less likely tunicate you'll see it is hollow or mostly hollow.

btw if they are trying to reach light, which is what I see from the pics, then they're photosynthetic and I personally have never heard of a little gray colonial photosynthetic sponge. And looking at the pics I think they would popular for the aquarium keeper. So this means they're bad... And so...

At this point I'm voting invasive macro of some type, probably caulerpa

It appears to be a variaty of Botryocladia Skottsbergii algae. I have had red, green and blue varieties in my tank, or maybe all the same variety but at different phases in it's lifecycle.

BTW can you disturb a little bit the pipe organ with turkey and to get another photo of it Please, I mean to see where and how exactly they are attached to the coral, and is it something like a base or stem they are coming out Please.

If ist an algae, I'm gonna taste it. If it's a shroom, garlic butter white wine reduction over some pasta with that fine chianti.
