Hmmmm. Pulling one and gonna dissect tomorrow.It appears to be a variaty of Botryocladia Skottsbergii algae. I have had red, green and blue varieties in my tank, or maybe all the same variety but at different phases in it's lifecycle.

If ist an algae, I'm gonna taste it. If it's a shroom, garlic butter white wine reduction over some pasta with that fine chianti.Man, that's a head scratcher! Other than the color it looks very similar to a weird bubble algae I had in one of my observation tanks.
