Could anyone help me identify if my clowns are sick? Got this new clown yesterday, looked and seemed healthy all day yesterday. Today I wake up and find a white blotch on the lower right side of its face. Can’t tell if this is just a scratch and something is healing or not, but it was not there twelve hours ago. Maybe too early to tell?
Thanks! My two clowns are in my desktop 15 nano.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

We need some additional background information, and the pictures aren’t quite clear enough to see what’s up. Take a look at the link below my name here for some tips on posting (if you are on a phone, you’ll need to turn it sideways to see the link).

Can you get a photo under white light?

Apologies, he is not easy to photograph. Looks like a white bump, can’t tell if it is fuzzy or not.

Not related but do note alk is getting high and Mag is high.
Im still questioning bump or Mucus buildup.

If it is behaving normally and eating I wouldn't be too concerned at the moment though I haven't come across this myself.
Best waiting for one of the experts to give their opinion.
For now I would recommend keeping your water stable and feed well.
Personally I would make sure I had broad spectrum antibiotic on hand and a QT tank available just incase it's required.

I presume the issue is the white on the lower edge of the operculum. I can't tell what that is. If it is only on one side, then it likely isn't a systemic infection, as those tend not to grow asymmetrically (more random, all over the fish). That leaves a possible injury?

I will update the thread with new development.
is there a way I can lower mag and alk? My water is made with RODI, no dosing of anything.
Dont add mag, nor alk and corals should absorb it and allow numbers to slowly drop
