Went to my lfs last week and picked this guy out. The guy said they just got him and he was still acclimating so they would let me know when I could pick him up. Two days later I brought him home. Hes in the main tank right now as he needs the pods that are in there. The other fish i have are in my qt tank. I didn’t want to put them together yet because of how fast i got the mandarin. He’s very active and I watch him eat and hunt but hes got these grey splotches and white dots im just worried if he is sick what could it be.

That mandarin has marine ich. They can be difficult to treat for this - they do best in tanks with lots of pods, so they don’t handle tank transfer, hyposalinity or copper very well. Of The three control methods, if no invertebrates are in the tank, you could try hyposalinity ….

We have corals and inverts in the tank at the moment. I really don’t want to move him cuz he needs his pods is there any other way to treat him

Not really. You could try the tank transfer method, but you need an ich-free tank to move it to when you are done.

People try Polyp Lab Medic with varying degrees of success, at least it is reef safe.
