Waiting it out is allowing things to progress. the cysts are there. When you see them with the naked eye, they've become adults already and likely have laid eggs and a new cycles will begin putting you Past Infestation.
Never wait out per suggestion parasites, bacteria or fungus issues.

What you can do to treat your DT is use Reef Safe Medic by Polyp labs. I had an outbreak on my Hippo Tang and used Reef Medic for 20 days and no more Ich!!! It's good stuff and safe to use in your DT.
I’ll pick up some of this to treat with for sure, I’d hate to lose the little guy. He’s my first tang!

Thank you all for the information, I will see if I can grab the little guy and put him back in my quarantine tank then treat.

All fish in the display will have to be caught and treated in a QT/Hospital tank, FYI.

Pretty mixed reviews on Polyp Labs Medic. There is no reef safe miracle in a bottle. There are two (maybe three) reasonable treatments with proven efficacy for crypto...Copper, Chloroquin, Tank transfer. Check out that link I posted earlier.
