You'll do fine. For sure I wasn't planning this so the new QT isn't ready for fish yet but hopefully this water in a box has some good things in it.

Five weeks at full copper and yes I added copper to the new water before I put it in. The first 72 days was too low of copper hence the fail.
I'm using Cuprion ionic copper one drop per gallon witch should give me a concentration of 0.20 with Hanna checker. That was my problem with first follow I only added as much copper to get a 0.20 reading. Now I mix new saltwater and add 5 drops to a five gallon bucket and get a 0.37 reading on Hanna checker.A bit OBE, but I’d be curious to know what type of Cu you are using (e.g., chelated is easier on the fish) and what test kit was used to determine the concentration. I suspect your YT is suffering from Cu toxicity.
I'm on week five with that much copper so yesterday I did two different water changes and added carbon filter hope I'm velvet free!!!!!!I'm using Cuprion ionic copper one drop per gallon witch should give me a concentration of 0.20 with Hanna checker. It could of been copper stress. Yellow tang looks way better today. All the red marks are gone and fins are not tattered looking. I'm sure the fins will grow back in time. I'm wondering if I should keep using E.M as directed or just let him heal on his own? I used one packet so far the directions say one more now water change tomorrow and repeat.
So to be safe leave the purple tang in that tank and transfer the other three to new QT and watch for one more week? I need to do something four fish in one ten gallon tank is too much. Or just give them freshwater dip and right into DT maybe leave the purple tang in QT?
