I'm wondering if this is common, me nitpicking or a problem on a new tank.

Basically the back of my side panel is slightly shifted upward by about 2mm. So it's not fully flush at the top, and the bottom seam likely is 10mm vs the 12mm glass thickness. Seam looks good otherwise.

Bottom pictures seems to make it look worst than what it really looks like.

Thanks

Hmmm, I think that top seam shows some low-level manufacturing, but I don't think it will be a problem as far as the integrity of your tank. The bottom corner looks damaged, did the tank come this way brand new?

@UncommonSense what do you think?

I think the corner is ok (no crack), there is some silicone and the cutting of the glass is poor in that area, but the rest of the tank seems good and well polished. Here is a different angle

This isn’t common!

It shouldn’t be a dealbreaker, structurally speaking… but, it is indeed shoddy craftsmanship!

Given how the top of the silicone seam has been wiped carefully to transition from lower pane to higher pane, this looks almost like the tank builder had some form of debris on their assembly table, under that glass pane’s edge… (those little chipped out chunks from the corner, perhaps…)

The residual silicone “squished out” looks pretty rough, too… is this tank brand new? If so, I would consider warrantying it purely out of principle…

Thank you both! I'll reach out and see what they think about it. Yes the tank is new. Never seen water.

Cheers
Good call! You paid for brand new, you should get brand new and flawless. Remember, if the seller or manufacturer gives you a hard time, your bank or credit card company may be able to step in and help.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out!
