I have a 150gal salt water with side sump. I only have a couple clowns an anemone and a snowflake eel. I need help getting water into my sump at a faster rate. I don’t want to use two pumps and water does flow from the aquarium to the sump but it is slow and I can’t get the return pump to match the flow perfectly and need to keep adjusting it. I ordered a 1045gbh pump that’s half the size of my current pump and that will help with return flow but how do I get my water from the tank to the sump faster? Is it better to use a larger hose or add an additional overflow box that hangs of the back and automatically drains onto the sump when the water is at the right level? I am new to the hobby and have run this funky current system for 1 year with minimal issues.
