I agree that's a good spectrum. I'd want to add UV into it, but that could be separate. The comparator I would consider is a combo of GHL LB3, with maybe 2 freshwater sky white, one ocean blue, and one coral pop.

How do you find the setup and software for the AI blade?

The MyAI app has been awesome and setup is super easy. I won’t use them on Mobius and don’t recommend it. You have the option.

Unless GHL has changed things, it was by far worst software and setup I’ve ever encountered in all my light testing. That was a few years ago when I ran their 7204 light. I never once got it connected through WiFi or Bluetooth or whatever they use.

They may have changed or updated it by now but I won’t touch their stuff ever again to put over my own tank

2nd that. The myAI app is fantastic and really quite nice. Any gripe i have with AI will definitely not be over their controlability.

I'll third the myAI app that was my return to reefing light a 21" blade. Very easy to set up and grew corals.
I tried to get mobius to work for the longest time supposedly it allows for more fine tuning. Never could get that to work for me. AI app allows plenty of fiddling with stuff anyway.

If you have different AI blades on the same tank, can they all be controlled at once?
I know the grow and glow can. I dont see why the fresh wouldnt be able to also but I dont know for sure. We had a blade set up at the lfs 2 grow 1 glow and it was all controllable at the same time in the app. Pretty sure mgr had myAI app not mobius installed. You just group them on the same tank. With the grow/glow combo it just added the other 2 color bars uv and rb I think to the 3 the grow has. So basically instead of 3 slider bars you get 5.

Does the cord of an AI Blade come out the end, and assuming so, does the cord detach?

I’d only have a half inch clearance between the blade and the inside of the canopy. I could cut holes for the cords, but if needed, the smaller the holes could be, the better (one side of the canopy faces a wall).

Thanks in advance.

It does come out on the end it does not detach. Its pretty flexible and small. I'll post a couple pics in a minute.

There is a channel on the end where the cord can be run 90° to the light

OK, thanks folks! It might fit with the cable just immediately turned sideways or up, or worst case, a hole drilled the size of the barrel plug end would work. The hole, if needed, might make moving the lights for any reason (different height, front to back placement, to add a large object to the tank, etc.) more difficult, but not impossible. :)

The GHL is a little bit tedious to get the LB3 set up but then it’s a breeze once you have it on the GHL app. I’m talking a half hour tops of dealing with IP setup to make it a client vs access point etc.

What I don’t love is all the cables and plugs it takes to control the lights vs just on/off.

Thanks. Yes, I have read about the need for splitters, etc. That doesn't concern me much since in my setup it will all be hidden under the tank and/or in the canopy.

Thanks very much to everyone who helped me pick lights. My decision has been made and the lights are ordered. I’m going with

3 X 48” AI Blade freshwater
1 x 48” AI Blade Coral Glow

Should have them next week.

Happy Reefing!

I think my comment was blocked

Not sure what you are referring to. Posts violating the tos do get removed, but folks are usually told why, and moderators still see them.
