So i have alkali glass corrosion on my tank and i just got the call that my tank will be replaced.

I have my eye on a koi fish quarantine tub to hold rock, sand, water and fish but i have a small problem.

The tank comes with a bottom overflow ( basicly a piece of missing silicone on the overflow box) that i do not want.
I used acetic acid based silicone to plug the hole last time and would like to do so again.
However now i dont have the luxury of time to let it cure.

when i get the tank replaced and immediately plug the hole would i be able to transfer everything over the next day? how long should i wait?

The acetic acid should cure a little faster than the natural cure stuff, but i would still wait the full cure time listed on the tube. I like to let mine sit until the acetic acid smell from curing is gone, depending on temperature and relative humidity sometimes 48 hours. but the listed cure time is best practice.

Maybe contact the manufacturer and see if they can forgo cutting that hole, or plug it for you?

yeah i think i will try but im not sure they will.
It's a custom manufacturer but the model i have is one of their standard models.
I was already told they have one in stock and could deliver when they pass by my area.
