Ok just checking. Also were you only able to glue one side of the baffles? This scares me some

Yeah some of the baffles you can only get one side of. No prob.
You can do a 3" if you want. It's your design man, it's the best part of DIY

Put the silicone on the baffle itself then stick it in carefully will make.sure its sealed on all sides.
Agreed. The silicone bonds the glass together. Not the giant bead that people put on the outside of the baffles, its the bond inbetween the panes thats the strongest.

Well I put a pretty good amount of silicone but I ran my finger around it to push some of it in the cracks.

on my sump build i actually drew lines on the tank with a sharpie, lined it with silicone, put the baffle in and then lined the other sized with silicone, i used a long handled plastic spoon to smooth the silicone on the sides where i couldn;t get my hand in there.

That's a cool idea I wish I would have thought about that. Well I put a good amount of silicon so hopefully it holds fine. If not i'll put some more lol.

On another note I bought my supplies at home depot and they actually had aquarium sealant. It was in the little tubes with the screw on caps. It was like $5 and the big tube of ge silicone 1 was the same price so I went with the ge stuff

I have mine sump setup with a skimner/filter sock chamber, bubble trap, empty (future frag rack chamber), and then the return pump. I have 8 inch tall bubble trap outside pieces, and the middle has a one inch gap at the bottom. The baffle separating my empty chamber and my return is six inches tall, but I keep 8 inches of water in the sump. With my overflow box and as sipohon break in my Utube return I don't have to worry about flooding my sump in a power outage and the eshopps overflow siphon is self starting. I'm happy with my build.

How long do you think I should wait before using? Just got it finished last night. I have heard 24 hours but I just wanna be sure. May wait until Thursday when I'm off work

But I would like to at least fill it up and make sure everything holds and clean it out real good
