Are you from England?

Born there, yes (almost nobody here would name their kid Simon) but have lived my entire adult life here in the US. To hear me speak, most people would not know I was English.

I write like a hillbilly with the purpose of being silly when on fish forums. Typing on an iPad has definitely changed my writing style.

Yes, of course. I'm good with grammar ….. but awful at typing, particularly on the iPad (space bar hard to find) with two fingers superglued together LOL.

I might have gone with the kessils rather than repairing my LED's, but the new ones aren't apex ready, so bleah.

Yes, definitely a BLECH. BTW, I have it on good authority that they COULD be controlled by apex ….. whether they will be is a different question.

Ah, now the heeby jeeby comment makes perfect sense. I'd imagine you have seen more than your fair share of idiot-inflicted injuries. I've been to the ER twice in my life, both for idiot-inflicted injuries. Fortunately, I appear to be a learning organism, so not in a while now.

Razor blades give me the heeby jeebys for sure. I don’t like watching someone use one, either. *Shiver*

Note to self - do not sip or drink coffee while reading a post by ca1ore. The part about naming their kid Simon was delivered pretty well I must say. On that note was in the UK earlier in the year. Newbury and Reading area for a couple of weeks.

Any details? More of a curiosity thing than anything else. Big complaint I have with the reef keeping hobby industry is the lack of interchangeability or connectivity. Everybody wants to develop their own or some piece of software thinking everyone will just use their phone or pad device to set or adjust lighting. No, that is what controllers are for along with nerdy things like storms, clouds, tides, or nutrient export flows after feeding. Instead we get controller here, controller there, dongle A, B, and C - and don't forget you need to buy one to one for each apex to gyre you want to control.

Somewhere I saw a video of the new Kissel and the fella was talking about the new cable design but didn't go into much detail.

I swear I thought you were English because of the way you type. But then I saw your videos and and heard little tiny things that are unique to the New England area, and chalked it up to that. I work with folks from all over the world, grew up in TX, family from KY. I love listening to people talk. I love the funny things folks say, that are unique to their family, or culture, or subculture, or even just their town. I get teased for the funny things I say. I call them Musicisms. Most of them are not PG. Anyway, I am usually very good at picking up little tiny things that folks say that give away they are not from Toledo Ohio, and I enjoy their stories, their history. I think it is because I moved so much as a kid - I went to 6 schools from kindergarten to the 4 grade. And got picked on for the way I talked. Even disciplined by a teacher for saying yes ma’am when I moved here from TX. And now as an adult I can not imagine moving halfway across the world.

Well I lived in NJ for almost 20 years - more than long enough for any vestiges of an English accent to be well scrubbed away. Some folks ask me if I’m Australian. Really! Clearly they’ve never been.

Just that once the wireless dongle (if thats the right word) appears there exists the ability to make them WXM controllable. Since Kessil don’t appear to have aspirations on the controller market it wouldnt surprise me to see it happen. Of course, my current WXM is at capacity with vortechs.

Oh, yeah, this is Simon’s thread about an aquarium...

I know, I'm guilty of going around and stalking threads, posting, then going off topic :( Having said that I know he picked up a wrasse recently so being a bit stalky/nosey I guess. Your thread is probably next there little miss Victoria :)

@ca1ore how is that new wrasse of yours doing?

The pencil? Just arrived yesterday so hasn’t emerged from the sand yet. Bag was very cold on arrival though (about 65 degrees) which is unfortunate.

Yeah - that is the one. Oh - bummer on the temperature. That Starcki I was talking about was posted at 1700 and sold at 1701. I wanted to smack someone!!!!
