Anyone have much experience with the Simplicity series of skimmers? Specifically the 240 dc model and how it compares to some of the bigger brands like RO and BM etc. appreciate anyone’s feedback!

Cheers and happy Thanksgiving week to all you reefers in the U.S.

I’ve had mine for almost 2 years on my 130 gallons tank (total volume). I really like it but it’s only my second skimmer (first in-sump) so I can’t really compare to anything.

It’s quiet, it does the job and once it’s set, you never have to touch it again. I only did maintenance on it once so far. I am way overdue…

I've run the 240DC on my 90g mixed reef for nine years now. Seems pretty appropriately sized for my system. Works well, easy to dial in. Pretty simple to take apart for cleaning. It is quiet enough.

I don't have any comparison to any modern skimmers to share, but I can say it works much better than the AquaMedic Turboflotor it replaced ;) .

The early run of pump/controller combos in the 240DC apparently had a flaw, and when mine died it was replaced under warranty with a pump/controller that has been 100% reliable. The company sent me some screws that I stripped out a few years in, which I thought was pretty nice of them.
