Believe it or not. I think my best piece of equipment is a WiFi web camera system looking at my tank, sump, ato, etc.
I was monitoring my tank while on vacation in the galopogos when I saw an overflow issue and simply shut that pump down remotely with a WiFi home automation switch I have on just about everything till I could get a friend to swing by. There are cheap WiFi 4 channel security systems out there that can save you.

Where else? I leveled and attached the sink and assembled the faucet. It was another $800 for the plumber to tap hot/cold and my waste line. Saved the marriage; so worth it times ten. More like 100X.

My slop sink was one of the smarter things I did.
I couldn't afford stainless, but I've been very happy with the fiberglass one I installed.
I hook up a python hose and drain my water change water down the sink.
I did this just about 20 years ago.
Before I used the bathtub.
My wife hated water change days.

I use my wife’s bushes. Can’t afford to put brown patches in my grass LOL

I love having that thing. As with all things chinese made, it was surprisingly inexpensive. But we'll see just how "stainless" it will remain. And the sprayer is awesome.

And yeah WC so much easier now. You can see that U shaped bit of PVC with a Mag 18 pump. Just hang it on the glass for a minute with the end of the hose in the sink and 20% is gone. Move to the next tank. Next.

Best piece of equipment regarding time savings...... Trident.

Most useful piece of equipment.... Honest tie between curved hemostats and turkey baster.

If i am going for my own well being items.

my own Ro/di and aws.

the amount of time these save myself is a lot more time to enjoy having a tank, not dreading picking up water or doing a water change when its 3 degrees outside.

Genesis Renew. Five years now of automatic water changes, 1 ga./day. I mix salt once every month-and-a-half. Good luck!
