While I'm waiting for the E marcos, I went ahead and plumbed up the first part of the manifold. I found that Amazon has the best prices for the clear primer and glue. I even got them same day free with prime. Thank you Amazon.

I get a weekend off this upcoming weekend. Hopefully, I can fit in a leak test, a manifold test run, Aquascaping complete and Easter. Looks like I will have a busy tank weekend. Fingers crossed.

Very nice manifold setup.

Mine looks similar except I used soft silicone tubing from the pump up to the manifold to help isolate vibration from the pump.

Time to get wet. :D

I keep trying to get this thing wet and then life happens. If The wife wouldn't schedule me up so much:confused:

I've neglected to post any new progress.
The first leak test passed on all my plumbing work. Leaks at the bulk head that RedSea silicone to the glass. Called customer service and they said to just silicone and it should be fine if not they would replace the entire tank. I have the silicone drying so far for 2 days will test again tomorrow.
Second-I completed the Aquascape. Took it outside to rinse it off. It toppled over and broke....Ugh, I didn't let it set up for 24 hours like recommended. Redid and now just going to let it dry until I'm ready to fill the tank.
Purchased a Gyre 230, Apex controller and bio media. I will post videos of all my progress as well. Just need to edit and render first.
It's coming along slowly but surely.

It's like I'm in the last mile of the marathon. Your right it's not quite wet. Just test water in it. I'm hoping to test again tomorrow. If all is good I'm hoping to have it running by the weekend. Fingers crossed.

I tried another leak test and still a fail.
Here is the leak at the bulkhead on the overflow pipe. I did another round of silicone and going to try again tomorrow. Looks like I didn't make it all the way around. It's like a 4 mm gap I left. If this next round doesn't stop it I'll have to ask for a tank exchange.

Found out I used the wrong silicone. Had to scrape it all off and try again. This is the 100% All purpose GE silicone 1 this all around. I think I don't got any leaks now. 24 hr timer start now!

Got controllers mounted. Return-Gyre-Apex. Got to do some wire management and hide power bricks. The Cabinet is starting to look really good.

Overnight leak test happened. Results are in. The overly done silicone job on the bulkhead is holding water back so far. Going to let the tank run all day and just keep watch. Need to purchase substrate, cables for the Kessil to Apex. A media bag, and Dr Tims One and Only. Lastly some DI resin for RODI. Getting to the home stretch to start the nitrogen cycle. Whooohoooo!

Are you happy with the Varios? I'm considering the same model for a 170.

Yes, I am. It is super quite and if it wasn't for water movement I wouldn't know it was on. I have it set to only 1 right now during the water test and it is giving plenty of return with the reactor open more than what I need it to be. I think it will be plenty enough for your 170. I'm really glad I went with this one. Might even get another for my water station since it can work wet/dry. Came with all the attachments too. Big plus, it's "Apex Ready". Highly recommend.
