Is there a decision on whether it's better to wet skim or dry?

I used to always wet skim because I figure more crap is coming out, but some folks dry skim and produce a smellier, darker skimmate. Just not as much.

Which is better and if there's an article somewhere, I'd be grateful.

Thanks,
Tom
