Where's the foaming like crazy pics? Looks nicely tuned to me at the moment - foam should be coming right up to the cup, or a couple inches higher even.

If it's over-flowing with foam and skimming way too wet then turn it down some...if you've turned it all the way down then maybe you have it set too deep in the sump? Says the water level should be 9.5inches on that model. Looks like it's on a stand so that probably isn't it.

If it's in the right depth and you can't get it to calm down then it probably just needs to work through some things. It could be anything - if you have an air freshener in the room it can cause skimmer havoc, or water after a water change etc. I'd just take the top off the skimmer and let it rock for a couple days to see if it calms down.

I'm not expert, but I'd rather be figuring out how to get the level down then in a situation where I can't get it to build a good foam at all....so you got that going for you.

That cup design is cool - the handle is a great addition. It's really hard to get my cup off the skimmer to clean - with nothing to grab onto.

Might be residue from the vinegar causing excess foam. Might need to just run it and let it foam over for a while. I had to run mine into a 5 gallon bucket for about a week before it ran well

The thing is the valve is open and spitting out alot water, does that mean it wont skimm crap if lots of water is coming out??? Im new to skimmers and hobby lol... when i close the valve a bit more the foam comes alway to the cup and even overflows... i dont know if thsts normal... i guess my question is does it matter if the valve is open and spits out a lot of water, will it still skim??

In that photo it looks like you need to close the valve a bit more to get the foam up. It should be an inch above where the cup connects to the body. That's a rough estimate as every skimmer is different.

Turn the valve down slowly. Little bits at a time and check back 10min later until the disk is bubbling mid cup or so. Then let it go.

Measure the water depth. Make sure you're not too deep.
