Happy Thanksgiving!

I just ordered the innovative marine 75 gallon EXT system to upgrade from my 20/15 gallon tanks.

I’m putting together the needed parts during Black Friday to save a couple bucks. The next thing I’m looking for is a protein skimmer but I’m a bit paralyzed by options. I’m looking for suggestions with a ~300 budget. I’ll probably plan for a heavily stocked mixed reef tank. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am running a redsea rsk300 on my 75. It has been pretty good and pulls out a ton of gunk and i love the built in drain hose, but has been hard to keep tuned. I sometimes wonder how it would be if i had gone with reef octopus, i was torn between the rsk and the ro 152 when i was deciding.

Funny enough, I was looking at the reef octopus classic 152-s skimmer because I found an open box for half off. The Red Sea skimmer was something I read a bit about as well. Mostly good reviews. I wa also looking at the bubble magus curve 7. It’s honestly hard to tell whether it’s worth spending more money or not with these things.

Never used it but I have heard nothing but great things about simplicity skimmers which is prob the route I will go when I upgrade.

We've got a Bubble Magus curve 7 on our EXT 75 . Takes out lots of crud and seems to stay tuned fairly well .

Reef Octopus Regal 150 is the best skimmer I’ve ever run.

can't go wrong with reef octopus classic series
