What would be the best skimmer for a 50 gallon tank? I need help picking out a new one since the cads light one I have is garbage.

I like Reef Octopus and Skimz. They're the only two I've ever used though so I'm extremely biased :) haven't had a problem with either so far!

OK first why do you say your Cad is Garbage?

It will overfill at random times and make a mess all over the floor. I'll set it at a dry skim in the morning and the same night it will be wet skimming by itself

How long have you had it up and running for?

Ah, just making sure it wasn't still breaking in. We already spend enough money in this hobby so I was checking :)
I hear good things about bubble magus, but have no firsthand experience with either.

Yeah I thinks it's past it's break in period lol. It's probably broken already
I just worry about it overfilling even when set on a dry skim when im out of town
Yes, lots of money but well worth it in my opinion.
I've heard good things about both the bubble Magnus and the Your choice aquatics just don't know which one to get.

I've been running a Simplicity 120 skimmer on my 65 for about 6months. Great little skimmer. Very well built, very stable and reasonably priced.

I run a skimz. They have very good quality in my opinion. Is you water level in your sump changing making you skimmer act differently through out the day?
Look on Bulk reef supply for the skimz. they a 15 percent off right now

My brother uses a Reef Octopus 110-int for his 40Breeder and sump and it works great! A little overkill for 40 but he has quite a few fish and just keeps it turned down a little.
