I have an OctoReef 110 INT skimmer that’s been running In my sump for about 2 weeks. It was producing nasty green skim for a few days into the collection cup and now today it isn’t producing many bubbles at all. Not sure what’s going on. Any suggestions?

You may need to make an adjustment. Turn it up or down and see what happens.

Mine never has a problem except when dirty. Of course the design of the Venturi requires frequent cleaning. Like monthly soaking in vinegar and scrub with a toothbrush cleaning.

I’m thinking of only running mine for 6-8 hours a day on the new tank so I hope I can get it to frequently restart without priming the air when I put it on my apex

turn the skimmer on full blast (fully open the gate valve) and put your finger over the air intake until the water level goes all the way up and begins to overflow, do this until no more bubbles are left in the skimmer. remove your finger and all should be good!

Ok, I will try that, what exactly does that do?

Skimmer performance is affected by introduction of amino acids, epoxy, superglue, fish food.... The list goes on and on. Typically the skimmer will perform normally in a few hours or a couple days based on what you added and how much of the item you added.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
