I bought a regal 200sss for my 150 gal heavy stock tank with 40 gal sump . Skimmer is 3 months old. I can not get this to skim. I tried water hight for 7 to 81/2 inch And every pump speed. This skimmer just will not skim .any body know what is wrong? Get ready to toss it in the garbage

Unfortunately I cannot see the pictures, what is the skimmer doing? Is it bubbling over or not bubbling enough? Usually it is something in your water impacting your skimming.

Did this replace an old working skimmer?

I’m running regal 150SSS and it skimmed from the moment I started it. Here’s a pic of it hooked up to my CO2 scrubber:

It looks like the air is restricted or the pump has the wrong impeller in it. It should have a pinwheel impeller.
iu

A skimmer pump is restricted by the air going into it and pumps a lot less water than it could without the air. Yours seems to be taking in air but not foaming it. Also have you made sure the venturi is not obstructed. The part on the front of the pump where the white tube goes.

My Regal 300EXT is an amazing skimmer. Did you buy yours new or used? As WVNed said, I would make sure it has the pinwheel and that there are no obstructions in the air inlet. This thing should skim great. I'm sure we can figure out what is wrong.

I have used RO for a long time. They are good stuff. I have a big one now. 5000INT, it runs like a champ. I get 2 gallons of skimmate every few days as dark as coffee.

Was another skimmer on your tank and working, prior to changing over to the 150SSS?
Yes switched from a NYOS 160 to the 150SSS.

Did you use a lot of Reef Epoxy when setting up your aquarium?

It looks to me that there are a lot of bubbles going back into the sump in the first video, that shouldn't happen. Have you assembled it correctly?
Looks like water and air are being sucked in and flowing straight back out.
