Skimmer Overflow

I have a new reef octopus classic 1000 hob that is overflowing from the return side. It’s not overflowing from the collection cup. What would cause this and how do I fix it?

I turned it off for water change and when I turned it back on, it overflowed. Everything was working fine the first day (only had it for three days).

Skimmers can be funny during the breaking period.

I would make sure nothing is clogging and then dial it down.
