Not sure if this has ever been posted here. I frequently read that reefers have skimmer over flow issues with no real solutions to get them back online quickly! Chemiclen or other cyno treatments are the most common contributors. Easy instant solution! A small pinch of reefroids added directly into the foam in the skimmer chamber will instantly cause the foam and bubbles to dissipate and return skimmer back to normal operation. Some times it takes a second pinch but it has worked dozens of times for me over the years. This is a 100% reef safe instant cure! Hope this helps.

I've heard of the vegetable oil on the skimmer walls do this because of the fatty oils being hydrophobic...maybe Reef Roids has some fatty oils that get released.

Although...if you're treating the system with, say chemi-clean, just turning down the skimmer or removing the cup to allow for full oxygenation is probably preferred.
