Running a 90 gl mixed reef tank. Heavy to light bio load. Will be running a refugium. Custom trigger system 39 sump. What do you guys recommend for a in sump skimmer. Was looking a reef octopus but not sure. Limited experience with the vast selection of skimmers. Hydro performer, redline eshopps?? DC no DC ......confused.
Help! Thanks

Anyone have any idea what brand/type of skimmer would work on my 100 gallon corner tank?

AquaC Remora – hang on. Depending how the water levels are in the back, maybe even an Urchin model, internal.

Tunze 9012 is an all-internal model you should look at.

I emailed the manufacture of the tank and they recommend

CLEAR-FOR-LIFE VENTURI PROTEIN SKIMMER FOR UNIQUARIUMS

Anyone have any experiance with these? They look rather cheap and weak, but what do I know.

What would be the best skimmer for a 45g all in one? Something dependable but for a reasonable price. I had my eye on an aquamaxx hob. What do you think?

Best HOB skimmer I've owned. Is it a jbj 45? Tunze 9004 might get underpowered I use it on my jbj30 and is awsome

Looks like junk. What deminsions of room do you have for something to fit. And how low from the rim does the water level go

I have used a few of the jebao dc powered skimmers, these are great skimmers and have a big punch with a small footprint. I would go with the 700 on that size of tank.

In all honesty there really are not HOT's made for tank's this size. There use to be HOT's that had bubble blaster pump's on them but I don't believe it would fit. The aquamax line of HOT's are probably one of your best bets like mentioned above.

There are a ton to choose from these days and there are many that are extremely similar. DC skimmers are great for many reasons and most are utilizing the same pump's these days as well so to me it comes down to price. For your more budget DC skimmers look at the reefbreeders, simplicity, hi seas, your choice. They are all similar and work well. Your more common brand like' octo's, aquamax, skimz are all great performers as well. There are so many options out there nowadays you should not have an issue. I would look something that produces 700lph air minimum for a 90g with sump and try and get something that cycles 300gph of waterthrough. The eshopps skimmers are pretty nice as well, nothing wrong with them. I would probably avoid the hydor's due to price and performance, you can just get better value these days.
