well lets go this route. what water depth is you sump water at. if its around 7 inches to 8 I would say ATB if its 8 to 9 inches I would say JNS sk2. They are both good. The ATB is just a hard skimmer to beat.

Mojo, have you ever tried a Tunze skimmer. Specifically the 9420tank for a 300 gallon tank.

I currently have a 75 gallon Deep Blue Edge with an Eshopps RS-200 sump (Skimmer compartment 18"x 11"). I have a Reef Octo 6" pinwheel that the pump has died on. Finding a replacement in stock has been difficult and I'm getting no response from Reef Octo. What would you suggest. I am looking to have a mixed reef.

I have this skimmer on my 75g/20g sump and really like it. I have a SWC230 I am going to be using on a different tank and am cycling some rock and it seems to work great. I don't think you can go wrong with either the Super Reef Octopus or SWC.

mojo: Im deciding between the Sea side aquatics cs2, and the SRO 2000INt. for around 130 gallons. There both the same price on a certain website, and I was curious which one would you buy if it was your money?

The skimmer part in my sump has a water level of 9 inches. I know the SRO runs much shallower, but I can raise the skimmer if need be.

The Sea Side will be better in the deeper water. It will be more quiet as well. although the SRO 2000 has a new pinwheel. It is pretty much silent now too. I would still go with the seaside for you water depth. Both are good.

Alright... Any idea how many watts the sea side aquatics cs2 skimmer pump uses? I been tryint o find it, but noone has it listed.

I am thinking about adding ozone to a royal exclusive skimmer. Do you think that the skimmer pump could draw enough ozone out of the ozone generator with out using an air pump to push air through the ozone generator.

do you think the sro 5000 ext. will keep up with about 500g system. i've got 42 fish in a lps/sps currently in my 200g DD and i'm looking to link about 300 more gallons to the system after i move but need to upgrade my skimmer asap. i really don't want to by one and it not be big enough after the move

Kody, give it a shot and watch your nitrates. If they start rising, you'll need a larger skimmer. I would wait on spending cash.

Mojo What happened to make you leave the hobby your LFS? System crash or what. Would you please share with us what made you realize that this hobby is "cut throat". I am starting a new 75 gallon w/ 30 gal sump and have been reading your skimmer reviews and you have made my skimmer selection a lot easier.I've narrowed it down to cs1 or cs2(leaning more to cs2 w/ heavy bioload)
