Does anyone have any recommendation for a hang on skimmer for a nano tank? I'm looking at the Bubble Magus QQ1, is there any other options?

I would look into to the tunze skimmers. I used to have a tunze 9004 DC and it worked very well.

I have the Coralife Biocube v2 skimmer and it works very well. It is small, quiet, efficient, and cheap. It is not a hang on skimmer though.

Fijicube makes a couple to compliment their AIO kits. I have one and it works good:

I got myself an aquamaxx 1.5 a few months ago for my 32. I chose this one due to the excellent reputation, and I'm very happy with it.

I had no idea fijicube made those. Could you tell us a little bit more about ? It is quite? How hard was it to tune? How’s does the skimmate look?

Mine is very quiet... even more so now that it's connected to a CO2 scrubber. Tuning is simple, you just rotate the cup, just takes a second. Skimmate is what you'd expect from any skimmer after it breaks in. Granted, mine is a little on the lighter side, but it's on the frag tank with a bioload of 2 fish (Hippo Tang and Sixline Wrasse).
