Skimmer swap out

So I ordered a new skimmer. What's the best way to "break in " new skimmer?? I know u are supposed to run it wide open for a few weeks but I need it to skim.

Maybe a vinegar/water bath for a while?

Yep...I think running in a vinegar bath for a while is the usual way. (That or buying your skimmer used! :D)

If you have the space in your sump run both at the same time.
The new one wide open and use the exciting to keep skimming.
