Skimmer Tuning Help- Curve Elite 5

Does anyone have experience with this skimmer specifically? I added it to the tank 3 days ago and it is still overflowing like crazy despite me changing the gate valve to adjust it. My old skimmer had zero break in and was just a plug and play situation so I am a little out of my comfort zone on what I am doing wrong here. Water level in my sump was about an inch lower than the recommended water height so I did raise it up on the first night but unsure what to do from here.

What is the height of the water? I think it recommends the water level to be high if I remember correctly? But in reality I think it works best at 6"-7" up from the bottom

They recommend 9.5-11 inches and I raised mine to 9.5 when I added it to the sump

I have this exact skimmer. Expect an extended amount of time to break in, I want to say mine took at least a week or two to settle in finally. Once broke in it's been a great little skimmer.

At what point do you know its broke in?

I left the cup on and let it overflow with the drain plug off, draining back into the sump. After some time you should see the skimmer start to settle down allowing you to dial it in to your liking.
