Hello Dave,
your tank looks lovely. You might want to take the biowheels off the filter, they are a nitrate factory. Like you new corals, and of course your fish.
hate to here about the tang and after a few days to get the sun coral settled its been opening around 7 for me lol but when i get home from work it looks amazing. love the duncans though. and let me know if your out my way you can stop by and visit and check everything out i got everything up and running with the 125 still very empty though but im up to just under 250 gal total water volume allot different for me but im realy likeing the build so far
Sounds like you are moving along man, glad the sun coral is doing well for ya. that is about the time that I would feed it as well. Think I am gonna TRY and take a step back for a month or two and let things settle. I think I've only said that once or twice! Congrats on the build.
yeah everything is up and going but im unhappy with it my stand isnt tall enough so befor anything truly major goes on in there im going to pull everything out and raise my stand about a foot so i can actually get to my plumbing and sump witch right now is impossible out of everything i thought of on this one and the planning going into seems like i would have remebered building the stand to fit my old 35 and 29 sump and fuge not a 55 lol but hey what would be the fun if you didnt have to work at it lol
Thought I would post some updated pics.
Only thing added is new 4bulb 216wt T5HO and rabbitfish.
Some polyps I got in a trade. But you can see some growth and general tank setup.
Been a few months since the last FTS. Here it is today. Tank is about 10 months old. Also have a RG and added a few corals one of which is the brain. Thanks.
New Update, Tank is about 14 months now. It has to be low budget since Im in grad school and can't work. New additions are the eagle eyes, the lime grean skirt zoa's (don't have a name on those), superman mushrooms, and the PE's in the last pic.
I have a 4 bulb T5HO I think 216wt. Its cheapest I could find but it gets the job done for around a hundred bucks. If I had it to do over again I would have gone for a 6 bulb. Thanks everyone for the comments.
