Anytime I use the forum with IE and type in a wysiwyg text box, like the quick reply, it's very slow. If I don't type extremely slow it can't keep up. It's only on IE and only in fields that have the wysiwyg. I've tested on multiple computers from multiple location, so I know it's not just 1 computer having issues.

Can't at work....

From an article i read when windows releases windows 10 i think ie is gone
It's just being renamed - still IE under the hood.

This worked for on of our other members with the same issue:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/i...0-0427f8af3a40

Link doesn't work. Page Not found.

Was looking on the vbulletin software forum it's a known issue on IE11. Their suggestion was to disable wyswyg editing. :eyeroll:

Oh well, no reef posting at work I guess.

You can also try toggling this option from WYSIWYG to Source mode.

Just a trick from your neighborhood System Admin...

Chrome Portable: Google Chrome Portable | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives

Firefox Portable: Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives

Just download and place on a flash drive. The software will run 100% from the flash drive and never be installed to the computer. Basically if you can load a flash drive, you can run these apps ;)

* Note: I do not condone bypassing security policies at your workplace, but when all else fails use your resources. If you use them I take zero responsibility for the repercussions in your employment status...

cdness, good tip. Unfortunately I work in a secure facility. No usb or optical drive access on our machines. :( I'm surprised they even let us surf the web. (the rest of the company outside my group can only get to their email)

That's the problem, IE is just slow. Sucks that you're stuck with it :(

I have the same problem and it is only with R2R for some reason. I frequent 5 different reef forums and a couple RV forums every day and
only this one is like molasses. I end up having to go back and modify almost every word or every sentence. Is it the VB?

I cleaned up this thread a little.

Let me say that the problem will be solved in less than two weeks.

Also for kicks and giggles here is some data on what our users use for their browser option.

Chrome: 40.63%
Safari: 28.17%
Safari (in app): 10.80%
Internet Explorer: 8.59%
Firefox: 8.20%
Android Browser: 2.73%
All others less than 1%

Thank you Rev. I had no idea that many users had bailed on IE! No wonder Microsoft is scrambling to come out with a new slimmed down browser. I use Chrome on my Android devices and even have issues with it sometimes so I suppose nothing is perfect.

I love Chrome. I use it for most everything for a while now. I avoid IE because of its issues. I'm going Microsoft's new browser will be worlds better (they're abandoning even the IE name, so hopefully it's a totally different animal). :)

That said, the new changes coming for R2R will be awesome and should streamline things for whatever browser you're using. :D
