That depends on what you're looking for! :-) I assume you know already that you can only test one parameter at one time, and that you will have to swap the reagents around between the PO4, NO3, Ca and Mg.

As for accuracy, it is hard to determine; however as for consistency it is a great bit of kit. I am running one for PO4 and I am very happy with my unit so far.

As for the alkalinity issue, you can always add a KH Keeper plus on the side!

If you are looking for a device that tests more than one parameter at one time and you're not into Neptune Apex and Trident, then the Mastertronic will be an option. It cost twice as much as the Smart Tester, but you get the added flexibility.

Remember, when something seems too good to be true, it probably is! :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes: I use a Trident for alk, ca and mag and the smart tester for PO4. Don't care about the NO3...

I don't understand all these people complaining about "the price for just one element".. We're quite happily paying well up around $1000 for units testing only alkalinity!

As an update here mate, I have two units arriving today! One for phosphate- and one for nitrate (when the reagents are released). Will let you know how I get on! :relieved-face:

would be nice ,But for the price of two units, I can get the reefboat which makes way more testing,not sure that it make sense to buy them

I feel like Kh would be the most beneficial to auto test... if your dosing is balanced, everything else will fall in line and you can spot check manually. I have a alktronic and like it but I hear the mastertronic is high maintenance and I'd be concerned about replacement part availability

I have ReefBot an am unfortunately not at all pleased with it for many reasons.

Accuracy?
Repeatability?
Failures?
Cost per test?
etc.
