I lowered my lights to 4" off the glass (5" to the water line, about 22 inches to the sand bed) and now I'm getting around 300-350 at the Higher rock levels. I need to update my picture with the new PAR readings but I just spot checked some areas and lowering the lights seemed to do the trick. Just have to live with it being a little awkward to lift the glass I guess.

I checked the PAR levels using the different settings and they were all the same if the light setting percentages were the same. The different pre-set settings didn't give out more Watts, they were just different preset percentages. The higher the percentages, the higher the watts used I guess. You can change each pre-setting just like the User Defined setting to whatever you want. I just chose to use the Self Defined setting so I could keep the different pre-set settings as factory pre-sets that I could go to if I choose to.

I did change my User-defined Daylight settings to more closely match yours (30-100-100-100-15-15). I apparently prefer a little bit more white mixed in than you do. Still getting around 300 PAR at the upper levels of my rock settings. So it was definitely the height I had them at, and I'm happy getting around 300 (fluctuates between 280-320 readings... so on average about 300 PAR) as the top end. Hoping that will allow me to get in some birds nests and a kenya tree coral.

I changed the Moonlight settings to 0-25-25-0-0-0. I thought that made my corals pop a little more than the 0-1-1-0-0-0 setting did.

Thanks for helping!
Awesome glad that worked. Hard for me to imagine such a change based on height alone but the numbers don’t lie. Mine are about the same height as yours above the water line and I’m growing sps. I think you’ll be good moving forward! Good luck. Let me know how it goes in a month or two.

I got two of the 60w for my 40 breeder. Plenty intense I think but not much pop. Wondering if I should return them for something else or supplement them with something? Opinions?

I get more pop with blue and purple higher than whites. Play with those settings till it’s how you like it. I’ve run mine for over a month with no whites at all with no problem. Then things really pop. Other option might be adding a simple blue led bar to just get a bit more pop.

Anyone get the 95w with this mount and like it? Seems like they changed it up to a rounded model. Hoping to use this for my Aquatop 24g, the light it came with seemed pretty bad. Hoping to get into mixed corals looking for strong growth without breaking the bank.

Just got this light and everything seems awesome except the fan turning on at what seems to be 19% intensity for any channel. Doesn’t turn off as the temperature is around 27degC which in my experience isn’t that hot for electronics. Emailed smart farm will let y’all know what they say.

Wondering if anyone has found a resolution for this as it was mentioned in the past. Honestly thinking of just removing the fan all together as the heat sink has pretty large fins plus it’s in a well HVAC room.

Are your fans really loud? I have these lights, and yes, the fans run when it's on pretty low. But you can't hear them or even notice they are on. They should be almost silent.

Yes got the same light and tank ! Very happy with it so far! Have a few corals that's doing well. A bit tricky to program at first but once setup its pretty stream line

I purchased mine last September 2021...I have it on a Nano AIO 20gal...They are actually good. I switched out my AI Prime for these (SMATFarm). Mine came with a remote and I have mine set via the channels to blues...on my reef
What are your settings % in each channel ?

Hi all! update on the smatfarm 95watt light install, at least for my liking the fan was pretty loud could hear it clear from 10ft away, have it in my living room so this wasn’t ideal, sounded like a server rack.

I ended up removing the plastic fan guard which actually reduced the sound quite a lot, only hear it standing right next to tank now. Might be some weird resonate that was happening as everything was tight, no vibration. Did have to use some washers to ensure light is tight to the bracket.

Response from smatfarm:

Dear bubbledouble, the fan will open when the brightness of any channel is more than 20%

the degree 25 is not the led degree, it is the heatsink degree. the led is higher than it. led may reach 60 degree.

Not sure why they say the fan is temp controlled if this isn’t the case.

As for now, that the noise is reasonable, I am running the following light settings.

A. 20
B. 45
C. 45
D. 38
E. 8
F. 8

This is exactly 50% of their recommended MIX default light settings. First time ever doing corals so will let ya know how it goes. Only have a zoanthid and Rhodactis shroom want to eventually add lps, sps and more soft

What are your settings % in each channel ?
Hi i swapt that light out for XR15 Gen 6 in 2023. However, that light (Smatfarm) is AWESOME one of the best growth in corals I had. I used the same lighting settings on the Ecoth website on the smatfarm

That's a big tank for two sub-100W lights. I run three 200W-class lights over a 4' 100g. I'd add at least two more or drop something like the ReeFi Uno 2.1 in the middle of those Smats.

Those look like hygger pumps on your back wall, as much as I like them and there design, Keep an eye on the magnets in the prop, mine started leaking rust into the tank in less than a year.... Nice tank!

Thank you, but they're Jebao SLWs.

Kessel arm mounts fit these, just a FYI for those rimmed tanks folks like me.

Did yours come with a remote? Both of mine did not have a remote, I contacted seller via Amazon and waiting to here back.
Seems like nearly the same mounting bracket pieces, how did you manage to get it to hold the light in place? On my dimmed tank it is continuously tilting forward and is bending the hard plastic of the rim.

Well truthfully, I'm not even sure I'm getting a remote. My new Smat Farm light is supposed to be delivered later today.
I guess I'll find out when it gets here.

What are you guys using for your moonlight settings? I assume you set all channels to 0% except one of the blue channels?

hoping the included bracket will work with my rimmed tank... if not, I might need to get a little creative with the mount.
What did you end up doing with the mounting bracket?

Hi everyone, I am pretty new to the hobby and looking to nail down my LED intensity settings and lighting schedule. I am currently running a Smat-Farm G5 AquaStar with a Waterbox AIO 25-gallon peninsula aquarium.

I am looking to house LPS corals and anemones alongside a few reef safe fish. Could y'all please provide LED intensity settings that are working for y'all in order to promote growth and maintain happy LPS corals/anenome?

I know this is old, but hoping you still check this. But I just set up a 6' 125 gallon. Have have 4 of these light on the tank because in the middle of my tank is an 18" wide brace so I cant mount a light in the middle.

I wanted to know if you are still running this tank and these lights. If these settings are what you are still using. I feel like I am bleaching my corals with light and trying to get them dialed in.

Thanks for your time.
