Snail ID

Hi Guys

can anyone help me with an ID of these baby snails which have appeared in my tank. I’ve seen approx 3 grazing on top of my rocks. I haven’t seen any snails laying eggs so not sure if it’s hitch hiked in on some frags.
In the tank I have a couple of turbos, Astraeas and Babylon snails.

Dove snail egg cases (Columbellidae sp.). These small, highly variable, beneficial snails rarely hitchhike into aquariums, are good algae eaters (their small size allows them to access areas larger snails cannot), and reproduce quickly. These are often misidentified as Maculastrombus maculatus (once Strombus maculatus).

just googled Collonista snails and these appear to be more of a rounded shell. The ones in my tank appear to have pointy shells.

No I have had no issues. They stay under the sand most of the time and just pop out when it’s feeding time. Haven’t seen them try to attach any other snails in the tank.

Thanks. Some people say they’re fine while others have had issues with them. They look pretty cool though, in my opinion.
Still pretty sure the small snails you have are dove snails (see the link in my original post). Soon enough, you’ll be seeing their egg cases in the cryptic regions of your tank.

Yep they look just like the dove snails you sent on that link, thanks. They must have hitchhiked in on a zoa frag I recently added.

Don’t both Nassarius and Babylonia stir sand? Not everyone has issues with Babylonia.
