I was in Anchorage a few days for business and had time to visit Alaska Coral and Fish.
When I said I thought it was strange to have a reef store in Alaska, I was told "It's winter 8 months out of the year. . .what else are we going to do?"
This makes perfect sense if you think about the fact that the peak season for aquatics sales is winter when you're not outside doing other recreational activities.
72 degrees and humid felt great to a Florida/Texas guy in AK, even for just an hour. Felt like I was home except for the lack of a disinterested wife waiting outside in the car!
