I’ve been trying to find this and it doesn’t seem there is a clear description of what that means in a reef aquarium. So I see it as a more natural laid out scape than the wall of rock going up the back. The top down look is my absolute favorite part, making 4 awesome viewing angles and a bunch of extra hiding places for fish and critters. How do you guys define a lagoon style tank?

I believe in the reefing world, it is based on corals found in the back reef areas which would have lower flow, more nutrients vs the fore reef/reef crest.
This is my understanding too.
