About a week ago I had a mishap with alkalinity dosing where I overdosed my mixed reef with soda ash. Crisis was averted through water changes and fortunately there was no loss of life in my 50 gallon cube. A week has gone by and my tank still looks like a snow globe from all the precipitant. It doesn't seem to scrub off the glass and every imperfection or scratch is now a brilliant white line that can be seen from across the room. I've read all of Randy's reef keeping articles I can find on precipitation but am not seeing anything on removal. Excellent articles on what it is and how to avoid it I must say. Can anyone tell me how to remove this stuff or will it even dissolve on its own over time?
