Soft coral I.D

Hi all,

can someone help I.D this coral
had him for a while and its just taking over a corner of the tank

also if anyone know if i can frag this like a mushroom coral? slicing down the middle of the mouth?

Haven’t seen these in forever. +1 on hairy mushroom.

Hairy mushroom--definitely.
Although it also looks like a species I recently removed from my tank because it's highly aggressive. Don't put any other corals near it, or it will burn the snot out of them and possibly kill them. I had to coral mine because it detached and went about making rounds burning everything it could.
Needless to say it was relocated to a friends 300 gallon with a lot more Realestate.

yeah this guy is on his own but his rapidly growing and getting closer to others, have to move him on or take the risk of trying propagating it, i like the look of it, especially feeding time

Have to ask what makes this rhodactis indosinensis and not Discosoma sanctithomae?

Looks a bit different to me but I could be wrong. Rhodactis indosinensis has a hairier appearance IMO. Then again, I've never seen a discoma sanctithomae in person.

I agree, the former does have a hairier look. That's why I was asking. When I had the species the OP posted and had it next to my hairy mushroom, the polyps had far more space in between them in comparison. So when I see the OPs and look at the hairy shroom I have, it also looks like it has far more space between the polyps.
And I honestly wasn't sure if it was the spacing or something else that separates the types.
Anyone know of a corallimorph expert?
