I have no skimmer and I am dumping food in. I switched to Chateo. I dump around 200 ML oyster feast, 200 rotifeast, and 200 phytofeast nothing else at the moment just dosing 3 part bionic. I also have many snail and an urchin. I also leave the little stars that populate like crazy. They help clean to.

I got into the hobby not knowing anything. My first hundred gallon had no skimmer and a refugium. Best growing tank I've ever owned. You want furry acros. They love food.


Polyps and color coming in. No where near where I need them. But they are improving everyday.

I have a frag tank and a little Elos that I would like to set up. Just haven't been very motivated. May need to pick your brain more on your skimmerless approach. Really kinda curious now. I know Leng Sy has done some SPS growth comparisons with skimmerless vs. skimmer tank set ups.

It would be my pleasure. Ultimately pretty simple. My nano is skimmer less as well. No water changes on either for a while. No filter socks. Lot of sponge and feather dusters, also added about 8 large boxes of marine pure bio balls. Ultimately I run a high nutrients system. I've tried a lot of different things and just watch how the corals react over periods of time.

They love food, And stability.

Way off on my food ratio to. I only do 30 of each a day not 200. Not sure how I came up with that number. Way to much.

Some of the small guys starting to pull through. Starting to see some good consistant alk uptake. Been a while but tank is starting to make me smile again when I look inside. At the rate I've seen another week or 2, I think we'll be sitting pretty nice.

A few updates. So far so good without skimmer. Starting to see growth and color I haven't seen in a while. Even in my last tank. It was inconsistent.

Lol. Who knows a year from now I could be saying how a skimmer as tall as my tank is the way to go. Probably not. I'm just going back to what I remember best.

Thank You. I frag a little here and there. Have to come up with funds to keep distributors happy, and my collection growing. Not that I feel I'm in a good place as far as where my tanks at. I'm more willing to cut about anything. Wish I was rich and didnt have to cut. But it's how I grow my collection at the moment. I grew up in the projects all I know is hustling. I think even if I was loaded, I'd still be wheeling and dealing. It's what I do.

Some of the little guys starting to spread there wings. Visible growth and color everyday. A lot of these I couldn't get a photo of till now cause they'd just show up as a total blur do to size and color.
