I run 2 hydra 52 HD’s 16” above my 50 gallon cube. AB+ with more red and green and a little less white

Asked for the AIP but did the calculations and lowered it. Thanks bud. Love the idea of less white and more green. White didn't give me nice colours but the green brings up the visibility to the human eye when the white is low. Good stuff.

I’ll take some pics when I get home but I’ve fragged many of my higher end tenuis in the last 10 days, but there’s still a couple I haven’t touched and the growth has been impressive.

Liking the look of the changed over spectrum. Hopefully this will produce some decent growth and color. The Hydra 52HD AB+ spectrum was quite white and washed to me at 54w/20k at surface.

Also didn't see much growth with AB+ with 20k at surface with 15 inches of water.

Interesting light schedule. Only 10% white. I have a friend that also running whites at 10% and raise the R and G percentage and he's having a great growth.

That’s definitely part of the future plans. They need to grow faster.

Chas, why did you elect to run your reds so high? I thought the consensus was that it was harmful at higher levels. What's your rationale? Also, is green just for visibility or do you expect some form of contribution to growth or colour?

I slowly raised it because I like the way the colors look with more red.

12 hour photoperiod (1.5 hour ramps, 9 peak hours)
Pulsing flow, just enough that the majority of the polyps move every 3-5 seconds
I grow chaeto in the sump
Im skimming for 12 hours at night but I’ll turn it off if po4 drops below 0.1
No gfo or carbon dosing or vibrant etc

I also only feed frozen mysis, a little rods and cyclopeez
I use reefpro complete A and B
I dose kz flatworm stop for coral growth, color and PE. I’ve never had aefw or any pest for that matter.
And I dose a couple drops of zeo food

Oh nice! I have a Neptune Trident on the way to help me with testing because I get busy/lazy sometimes as well.
I only feed frozen mysis as well and nori for my tang. I need to test my par because I am using a Radion XR30 G4 Pro that is running the AB+ schedule with a diffuser on the light.
Chaeto is growing nicely too. What zeo food do you specifically dose? I never knew kz flatworm stop helps with coral growth and all that even if you don't have any pests.

Everything looks great I'm going to try acclimating my coral to your lighting see what happens good job though keep it up
