Hey,

I woke up this morning to my beautiful frogspawn being eaten :( I'm sad because it was actually cool with two different color morphs on the same skeleton.

Of course now I want to know the culprit.

FWIW the frogspawn is the newest edition besides a cleaner shrimp and 2 peppermint shrimp.

The tank stock:

Assorted Hermits
Yellow Tang
Kole Tang
2 Ocellaris Clowns
2 Orchid Dottybacks
1 Blue/Gold Damsel
1 Starry Blenny
1 Sandsifting Goby
1 Emerald Blue Crab
Assorted Snails

I will upload a pic shortly of the damage but basically half the arms on both polyps were munched down

I caught one of them and put it in the refuge haven't gotten the other one out. I really hope the frogspawn heals

Reef safe is a broad statement I haven’t had any peppermint shrimp that didn’t try to eat my frogspawn before I pulled them.

Hermits chewed on mine. Still alive but hasn’t recovered much. Banished to the sump

I agree it was probably the peppermint shrimp.

It took mine about 5 minutes to completely destroy it.

Dang! Good thing I "re-homed" my 2 Peppermint shrimp. I did question why a previous frogspawn wasn't doing well. Could it be?

Very possible. There notorious for snacking on LPS. I've kept them for years without issues but my last batch liked acans. Most of the time I'd see them steal food from corals but this time they were removing flesh.
