Just curious is anyone else has seen this or can shed some light on it. A while back I picked up an atlantic blue tang that was going through transition (blue body, yellow tail). While in qt the tang reverted back to its juvenile colors and has shown no sign of transitioning. Fish is healthy no disease eats like a pig. I just now have a 4 inch yellow "blue tang" lol. Ill post pics of when I first got it vs now

I've got a feeling that it's something to do with confidence / feeling of dominance. He's in a new environment, and not feeling like the tank boss, but when he feels more confident, I expect you'll see that blue come roaring back.

I've seen similar color changes with chocolate tang - and within minutes, not days.

Yea I've looked it up before and that may be the answer. My flame angel who was being treated at the same time isn't aggressive but loves to follow other fish around and rub up against them. But the tang generally faded out at night after lights out its like it did it one night and just stayed that way lol

Face profile between the 2 pics doesnt match
Are you sure you uploaded the correct pics for comparison?
They are the right pics and the same fish. The yellow pic the tang is a little more than double the size of the blue picture. Unless someone broke into my house and swapped out my fish lol

Very strange. The face profile is totally different
Yellow fish pic has a pushed in face with a down-facing mouth
Purple has a curved/sloped face down to the mouth with a forward-facing mouth

I think its an illusion because of the angle. If you zoom in the part above the mouth seems to be shaped the same.

I'm calling this a hoax
Not the same fish in each pic
The forward shapes don't match
Its most definitely the same fish. I have purchased two tangs the Atlantic blue (in the pics) and a yellow eye kole tang which is pretty hard to mistake which one that is.. why would I make this up im looking for answers. Here's some other angles and the only two tangs I have together in the same pic
