Dang those acans are loving life!

Just wanted to update you guys on what I have been doing lately. I have been getting tons of requests for frags so I decided to setup a frag tank to house them. I have a small tank connected to the system that was supposed to be a frag tank but it ended up being a clown fish/pistol shrimp tank.

The tank comes in on Friday and the light today. Here is what the tank will consist of:

Tank: 36x24x18
Lighting: ATI Sunpower 6x39W
Flow: 2x Tunze 6045
Return: Ehiem 1250

Bulbs:

Front
Ati Blue+
Ati Aquable Special
Ati Blue+
Ati Aquable Special
Ati Blue+
Ati Aquable Special

The tank will be connected to the main system and filtered by my Deltec AP851. I should have it all up and running by Sunday.

Dang those acans are loving life!

Thanks Rev! I feed them Spectrum brand pellets every two days.

Nice as always sunny... What's the green acro with blue tips???? That's sick!!!

Thanks! :D That would be a Turaki. It is more of a sea-foam color in person.

Looking good Sunny! The Sunset Milli is Bangin'

Awesome! I got your text but forgot to get back to you. I am glad it is doing well in your tank.

sunny , tank is looking amazing. what kind of media do you run for phosphate control? just picked up a phosban 150 as well and wondering if you had a preference ? i just realized on page one you stated carbon in a bag and i see you run micro bac 7. do you turn your skimmer off for the recommended 4 hours? also how often do you dose this? sorry for all the questions. your system is one to look up too.

Hello and thank you. :D

I dose MB7/Vodka daily. Here is a breakdown of my dosing schedule:

Daily
CA: 110ML
ALK: 110ML
Strontium: 1 Teaspoon
Lugols: 1 drop
MB7: 14 drops
Vodka(80 proof): 2ml

Weekly
MG: 110ML
AA's: 6 drops(twice a week)

Monthly
30gl Water change Reef Crystals
Carbon replaced (3-4 cups in a mesh bag)

More info on my site: Updated dosing list... - Rimless Reef

For PO3 media I use : 1.75 pound (453 Grams) Bulk GFO "High Capacity" Ferric Oxide - English

I keep my skimmer on 24/7. When dowsing bacteria/carbon source it is very important that you keep your skimmer on at all times. When bacteria multiply they quickly absorb oxygen so you will need to keep the skimmer on.

Amazing !!!.... Everything looks healthy and one of my favorite tank !!.. making me think about dosing again :)
